Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement 2024
This statement outlines the measures Adefey Care Group has put in place to combat slavery and human trafficking, in accordance with Section 54, Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It explains our operations, the policies and processes designed to minimize risks, how we monitor these risks, and the training provided to our staff.
Our Commitment
At Adefey Care Group, we are deeply committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in all our activities. We recognize our responsibility to ensure that our operations and supply chains are free from these practices.
Compliance Standards
We maintain high compliance standards by auditing our suppliers regularly and undergoing audits by affiliated framework agreements and the NHS. This ensures that we continually meet and uphold these standards.
Workforce Organization
Adefey Care Group employs a diverse workforce, including nurses, HCAs, carers, support workers, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals. We also have over 40 corporate employees dedicated to supporting our operations. Our organization has a strong presence across the United Kingdom.
Recruitment
As an Equal Opportunities Employer, we recruit candidates through online job searches, referrals, and local recruitment drives.
We follow a stringent recruitment process. We communicate directly with all candidates to discuss opportunities and confirm job offers. Our IT-backed procedures ensure the thorough vetting of new employees, verifying their identities, right to work in the UK, and ensuring they are paid into personal bank accounts. For employees with work permits or visas, we conduct regular audits to ensure their documents remain valid.
We are governed by The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) and have passed their compliance audit. Additionally, we adhere to government workforce legislation, data protection acts (GDPR), DBS regulations, and UK regulatory bodies such as the NMC and CQC.
Our full recruitment policies are available upon request.
Training
All our staff receive training appropriate to their roles, which includes:
• Awareness-raising on modern slavery and human trafficking, enabling them to report concerns through our Whistleblowing and anti-slavery/bribery policies.
• Encouragement to discuss any issues they encounter. Our training continually evolves to meet the needs of our customers and the industry.
Supply Chain
We are committed to ensuring that neither our business nor our suppliers tolerate modern slavery, forced labor, or human trafficking. Our supplier vetting process includes:
• Requesting evidence of their processes and policies on modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labor, human rights, and whistleblowing.
• Conducting audits before entering into commercial relationships where there is potential risk. These audited businesses form our preferred supplier list.
• Regularly reviewing and, if necessary, re-auditing suppliers or conducting spot checks.
Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding | Whistleblowing Policy
We encourage all employees and workers to report any concerns related to our activities or supply chains. Our Speak Up (Whistleblowing) Policy is designed to make it easy for workers to disclose issues without fear of retaliation. They can raise concerns directly with their Line Manager, the HR Department, or any member of senior management.
We encourage anyone, including colleagues, suppliers, candidates, and clients, to report unethical practices such as fraud, bribery, slavery, or human trafficking. We work with local authorities to ensure these concerns are investigated and addressed effectively.
Our staff are always encouraged to bring any concerns to management’s attention.
